Srinagar, Pahalgam and Sonamarg Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Srinagar & City Tour

Morning: Arrive at Srinagar Airport (SXR). A private cab will transfer you to your hotel or a traditional houseboat on Dal Lake.

Afternoon: Settle in and have lunch. Then, begin your city tour of Srinagar, the summer capital.

Mughal Gardens: Visit Nishat Bagh (Garden of Pleasure), Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love), and Chashme Shahi. These terraced gardens are a testament to Mughal engineering and offer stunning views of the Zabarwan hills.

Shankaracharya Temple: Drive up to this ancient temple on a hilltop for a panoramic view of Srinagar and Dal Lake.

Evening: Enjoy a serene shikara ride on the iconic Dal Lake. You can also visit floating markets and gardens. Stay overnight on a houseboat for a unique experience.

Day 2

Day Trip to Gulmarg

Morning: After breakfast, embark on a scenic day trip to Gulmarg, the "Meadow of Flowers" (approximately 1.5-2 hours drive one way).

Afternoon:

Gulmarg Gondola: A must-do activity. Take a ride on the Gulmarg Gondola, the second-highest cable car in the world. The ride in two phases offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the Pir Panjal range.

You can also enjoy a pony ride through the meadows or try some light trekking.

Evening: Drive back to Srinagar for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3

Day Trip to Sonamarg

Morning: After an early breakfast, take a day trip to Sonamarg, the "Meadow of Gold" (approximately 2.5-3 hours drive one way). The journey is spectacular, with the Sindh River flowing alongside the road.

Afternoon:

Thajiwas Glacier: Hire a pony or a local taxi to visit the famous Thajiwas Glacier. The area is stunning, with snow and ice visible even in the summer.

You can also enjoy a leisurely walk, or, in winter, a snowmobile ride.

Evening: Drive back to Srinagar for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Drive to Pahalgam & Local Sightseeing

Morning: After breakfast, check out and drive to Pahalgam, the "Valley of Shepherds" (approximately 2.5-3 hours drive). The drive is beautiful, passing through saffron fields and pine forests, with the Lidder River flowing alongside.

Afternoon: Upon reaching Pahalgam, check into your hotel. Then, take a local cab to visit the famous valleys:

Aru Valley: A tranquil meadow known for its stunning landscapes.

Betaab Valley: Named after the Bollywood movie "Betaab," this valley is known for its lush meadows, pine forests, and a crystal-clear stream.

Chandanwari: The starting point of the Amarnath Yatra.

Evening: Enjoy the serenity of Pahalgam. You can take a leisurely walk along the Lidder River. Overnight stay in Pahalgam.

Day 5

Pahalgam & Departure

Morning: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Depending on your flight schedule, you can visit local spots like Baisaran Valley (Mini Switzerland) by pony ride.

Afternoon: Check out from the hotel and drive back to Srinagar. You will be transferred to Srinagar Airport for your onward journey.
